Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) has taken a significant step in the development of the Kamous gas field with the completion of the installation of two new offshore production platforms, Hoor-1/2 and KSE-1. This gas field is located off the coast of Egypt and is managed by North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO). The installation of this offshore platform follows the strategy of Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to increase natural gas production.
Details of the Offshore Platform Installation
Petroleum Marine Services emphasizes that this installation contributes to the development of natural gas fields and strengthens the country's offshore oil infrastructure. The Hoor-1/2 platform is designed to accommodate two wells; the first well will be drilled in the fourth phase and the second well in the fifth phase of the drilling project.

The scope of work for PMS includes the installation of two production platforms, each weighing 575 tons, totaling 1,150 tons. This operation was carried out using the PMS-12 barge and supporting marine units, fully complying with the highest quality and safety standards as well as the approved project timeline.
Development of Marine Infrastructure
According to information provided by the company, the PMS-12 barge is recognized as one of the strategic assets in its marine fleet, equipped with the technical capabilities and operational capacity necessary for the installation of production platforms and the installation and operation of underwater pipelines. This success demonstrates Petroleum Marine Services' capabilities in executing complex marine construction projects and leverages the expertise of the Egyptian workforce and the advanced marine fleet of the company.
Petroleum Marine Services has also mentioned its previous successes in installing and operating three 8-inch diameter underwater pipelines in this project. These pipelines have contributed to completing the marine infrastructure needed for the development of the field.
The company intends to take further steps in this direction by installing the 510-ton Snefru offshore production platform and continuing the connection and commissioning activities in the later stages of the project. The installation of these two new platforms follows the completion of a similar project in the Gulf of Suez, Egypt, which included the installation of an 18-kilometer gas pipeline and the upgrade of the offshore platform in the field managed by Gempetco.
