Eco Wave Power has completed the first phase of its AI-based digital twin development program for wave energy. This program was carried out in collaboration with an engineering company based in Germany, and in this phase, a physics-based digital model of how ocean waves interact with Eco Wave Power's proprietary floats was created.
Digital Model and Simulations
This work included simulating wave loading, float movement, structural forces, and potential energy generation under various sea conditions. Initial machine learning capabilities for predicting energy and loading were also included in this phase. The project also assessed how the model could adapt to future sites with different wave conditions, which, according to Eco Wave Power, allows for the transfer of engineering knowledge and insights from one project to another.
Goals and Future Vision
Inna Braverman, founder and CEO of Eco Wave Power, stated: "We are building digital intelligence around our physical technology. Our technology currently converts ocean waves into clean electricity. By combining it with digital twins and artificial intelligence, our goal is to predict system performance, optimize technology before deployment, and learn faster from every project we build."
She also added: "We believe this can help us improve engineering decisions, accelerate deployment, and ultimately create smarter wave energy systems to move towards larger commercial installations."
