Fugro has obtained a contract from Cadeler to conduct post-installation seabed surveys at the East Anglia Two offshore wind farm, which has a capacity of 960 megawatts. This work is set to begin in early 2027.
Details of Fugro's Contract
Fugro will utilize its FCV 600 remotely operated vehicle (ROV) for this project, which will be deployed from a Cadeler installation vessel. This ROV will be used to survey and verify 64 locations for the installation of monopile foundations. The aim of these surveys is to confirm the correct installation of the foundations and to gather data to support quality assurance and long-term integrity assessments.
Cadeler's Responsibilities in the East Anglia Two Project
Cadeler is responsible for the transportation and installation of all 64 monopile foundations and wind turbines in the East Anglia Two project. The company will use its new A-class vessel named Wind Ace along with an O-class vessel for the installation operations. The East Anglia Two project is being developed by ScottishPower Renewables, part of the Iberdrola group, located 33 kilometers off the coast of Suffolk.
This project will include 64 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD wind turbines and is expected to be operational by late 2028. Fugro is also providing positioning and construction services to Cadeler for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind project with a capacity of 2.9 gigawatts. Fugro specialists on Cadeler's Wind Ally installation vessel will use the company's InclinoCam technology to measure the tilt and vertical alignment of the monopile foundations during installation.
