The M/V Capt. Pete Ciaramitaro has been delivered to Southern Devall as the fifth vessel in the ten-vessel construction program between Laborde Products and C&C Marine and Repair. This vessel was built at the C&C Marine and Repair facility located in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
Technical Specifications of the Vessel
The M/V Capt. Pete Ciaramitaro has achieved a total power of 2,520 horsepower with two Mitsubishi S12R Tier 4 engines, each producing 1,260 horsepower at 1,600 RPM. The vessel features a twin-screw propulsion system, and its electrical needs are supplied by two LPI-F45-99KC-M generator sets provided by Laborde.
Construction and Delivery Process
This vessel is the first delivered to Southern Devall in this program, while the previous four vessels were delivered to Canal Barge Company. These vessels include the M/V Mimsy H. Lindner and M/V Cabby H. Boone. The growth of this program reflects the strength of collaboration between Laborde Products and C&C Marine and Repair, as well as their shared commitment to building vessels suitable for commercial marine operations.
Laborde Products, as the propulsion partner in this program, has supplied the Mitsubishi engines and generator sets and has worked closely with C&C Marine and Repair at every stage of construction. The S12R Tier 4 platform continues to be recognized as an effective option for inland waterway service, meeting the power, durability, and emission performance required for this program.
Jared Legendre, Vice President of Sales at Laborde Products, states: "Every successful delivery depends on a team effort from the initial planning stages to commissioning. Close coordination with C&C Marine and Repair from the beginning ensured that the propulsion package was precisely aligned with the vessel's needs."
