Cisco and PSA Singapore (PSA) have begun a strategic collaboration to accelerate the next phase of transforming Tuas Port into a resilient, AI-driven digital port. This collaboration is dedicated to developing a proof-of-concept for an AI-based incident management and monitoring platform at Tuas Port, which is currently considered the largest fully automated container terminal in the world.
The Necessity of Digital Resilience
Digital resilience has become a daily necessity across various industries, including modern port operations. Cisco's research indicates that the average annual cost of outages for each organization has risen to $300 million. Outages that affect critical systems such as Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) can disrupt port operations and business continuity. The new platform is designed to reduce and ultimately prevent these unexpected outages.

Platform Performance and Cloud Security
This platform, powered by Cisco, aggregates real-time performance data from PSA's applications, infrastructure, and network systems into a central view. By using AI to map how various services and infrastructures interact, this platform helps technical teams quickly identify which services are impacted during an incident, diagnose the root cause of the problem, and receive real-time solutions to resolve issues.
Additionally, built-in cloud security helps protect the port's critical infrastructure against modern threats, preventing unauthorized access and identifying unusual network traffic.
Nielson Kwok, Regional CEO of PSA International in Southeast Asia, stated, "Digital resilience is fundamental to the reliability and efficiency of global supply chains. We continuously explore new technologies to enhance operational resilience and deliver excellent services. Our collaboration with Cisco represents a shared commitment to advancing innovation in port operations and strengthens Singapore's position as a reputable global business hub."
Bee Keng Tai, Cisco's President in ASEAN, also said, "As critical infrastructures become more complex, organizations need to be able to see, understand, and act on all their technologies in real time. We are committed to providing AI-based monitoring and security to PSA to transform their operations and provide the critical infrastructure necessary for the age of AI."
Building on the strong digital foundation of Tuas Port, this collaboration advances PSA's multi-year digital transformation journey through next-generation solutions. The platform will initially be implemented in the live lab phase 2 of Tuas Port, which serves as a real environment for testing, validating, and refining innovations that support the ongoing development of the port on its path to full completion by 2040.
