On October 23, 2026, Boluda officially named the ASD Tug 2813 as VB Marte at a ceremony in Genoa. This tugboat, designed with a focus on safety and efficiency, is built to provide towing services and other marine operations.
Technical Features and Design of the Tugboat
The ASD Tug 2813 VB Marte, with a width of 12.93 meters, provides greater stability during operations. This tugboat is capable of producing 83 tons of bollard pull. The design of this tugboat ensures that operators benefit from a clear and unobstructed view from the wheelhouse.
In selecting the features of this tugboat, Boluda has offered various options based on the specific needs of customers. In this particular case, Boluda decided to install a rear winch, crane, FiFi 1 fire-fighting system, and oil recovery capabilities.
Boluda's Environmental Approaches and Forward-Thinking
Antonio Marte, Sales Manager at Damen, stated at the ceremony that Boluda has decided to build a fully equipped tugboat. This has resulted in the creation of a highly versatile asset. Furthermore, although the Mediterranean is currently not designated as a NOx emission control area under IMO Tier III, Boluda has opted to install Damen's marine NOx reduction system, which reduces NOx emissions by up to 80 percent. This action reflects Boluda's forward-thinking and responsible approach in its operations.
At the ceremony, Antonio Marte's wife, Anne-Marie Verheijden Marte, was present as the sponsor of the naming of this tugboat. Antonio continued, "I am very proud that my wife has been invited to name this amazing tugboat. This occasion is very special to me, as it coincides with the delivery of the advanced ASD Tug 2813 to one of Damen's best customers, and it is a proud moment for all of us. I thank Boluda for this order and for their continued trust in Damen."
