Borr Drilling, as one of the leading companies in the offshore drilling industry, has retained ownership of its three drilling rigs and has resumed operations in Mexico. The company will continue its activities by arranging crewless rental contracts, and it is expected that the overall economic conditions will remain unchanged.

Contract Details and Key Dates

The Njord drilling rig is contracted until April 2028, with extension options available thereafter. Additionally, the Galar and Gersemi rigs will remain under contract until May 2030. These agreements reflect Borr Drilling's commitment to maintaining and strengthening its position in the Mexican drilling market.

New Purchase and Its Impact on Operations

Borr Drilling's Mexican joint venture has recently completed the purchase of five drilling rigs for $287 million. With the completion of this purchase, Perfomex will continue its activities in integrated well services and collaboration with Pemex. The Bermuda-based company will also independently operate and market its fleet to other operators in the region.

This sale is expected to be finalized in September 2026 and will close under normal conditions. This move will help Borr Drilling streamline its corporate and operational structure in Mexico and contribute to future growth in this high-demand market by creating a more efficient platform.

Transfer of Responsibilities and Future Plans

According to the terms of the final agreements, a transition period is expected after the contract closes to facilitate the orderly transfer of operational responsibilities to Borr Drilling's local partner. This action will not only assist in the transition but also pave the way for increased demand and strengthened local collaborations.

Overall, Borr Drilling, by adopting these measures and creating a new structure, aims to strengthen its position in the Mexican drilling market and other regions. The company hopes to experience further growth with the increasing demand for drilling rigs in shallow water markets.
