Zupt Company, a Houston-based provider of underwater services, has signed a collaboration agreement with Mitang, an underwater services company based in Rio de Janeiro. This agreement, effective from September 30, 2023, aims to support underwater monitoring services, inertial metrology, remote metrology, and 3D modeling services in Brazil.
Details of the Collaboration Agreement
Mitang will serve as Zupt's local partner in Brazil, providing local business coordination and operational support. This company will be responsible for managing local suppliers and customs arrangements while Zupt will maintain technical oversight of its procedures, reports, and products. With equipment available in Brazil, this collaboration is expected to reduce international transportation costs and create more flexibility in project preparation.

Impact on the Market and Future Projects
The agreement between Zupt and Mitang enables Zupt to quickly respond to the needs of future projects while avoiding unnecessary costs. Additionally, this collaboration includes the use of advanced technologies such as C-PINS for metrology and 3D Recon, which produces accurate 3D models of underwater structures. These technologies are designed for measurement, inspection, and engineering assessment without contact.
This agreement is one of Zupt's significant steps towards its long-term strategy to create an integrated portfolio of technologies and engineering capabilities for the underwater market. Last summer, the Rosenxt group announced that it had acquired Zupt through its business in the United States, reflecting the company's long-term goals in the international market.
