Market Entry Date and Future Outlook
The first vessel, Vindnes, is expected to enter the market in 2028, while the second vessel, Vestnes, will be commissioned in 2029. According to Maurits den Broeder, CEO of Van Oord's offshore energy division, these vessels not only provide additional capacity but also introduce a new generation of subsea rock installation vessels designed for efficiency and sustainability.
He also emphasized that the need for secure and sustainable energy infrastructure has never been more critical than today. As offshore projects become increasingly large and complex, clients require solutions that reduce project duration, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and offer the lowest total installation costs.
These vessels exemplify Van Oord's confidence in the continued growth of the offshore energy industry and reinforce the company's commitment to remain at the forefront of seabed intervention.
