The deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Izadi, during a visit to the fighters of the Medina Munawwara headquarters of the IRGC Ground Forces on the southern coasts and islands of the country, announced the combat readiness of the armed forces to defend the Strait of Hormuz and protect Iran's national interests.
Combat readiness of the armed forces
Major General Izadi pointed to the presence of the Ground Forces, Navy, and Aerospace Force of the IRGC in the islands and northern areas of the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that these forces are ready to defend this strategic region. He stated: "Having operational plans, tactics, and advanced techniques are among the defensive capabilities of these units."
Continuation of the fighters' efforts
Izadi also referred to the history of the fighters' struggles during the Sacred Defense era and added: "The forces stationed in this region continue the same path to protect the interests and rights of the Iranian nation." He expressed hope that combat readiness in the islands and waters of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz would be strengthened.
These statements come as the Strait of Hormuz is recognized as one of the most important oil shipping routes in the world, and any threat or disruption to the security of this area can have widespread impacts on the global oil market and energy security. In this context, the deputy commander of the IRGC emphasized that "the IRGC fighters, alongside the forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army, are responsible for guarding and defending the Strait of Hormuz."
Given the existing tensions in the Persian Gulf region and the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, the readiness and capabilities of Iran's military forces in this area can act as a deterrent against external threats. This not only contributes to Iran's national security but also has significant implications for regional stability and global energy markets.
