Background and Goals of the Award
The Ocean Solutions Award was launched in 2021 and aligns well with the main theme of Nor-Shipping 2027, which relates to the future and transformation of the maritime industry. This award provides an opportunity for innovative companies to showcase their achievements and draw the industry's attention to new solutions. Syeda Sel Norook, the director of Nor-Shipping, stated: "The shipping industry faces many challenges, but it also has the talent and capability to address them. Our goal is to raise awareness of this potential and connect it with businesses that can leverage these solutions."
Previous winning companies such as bound4blue, which won in 2025 for their eSAIL® suction sails, and AlfaWall Oceanbird, which won in 2023 for their wing sail system, are prominent examples of effective innovations in this industry. These awards highlight the importance of utilizing renewable energies in the maritime industry and their ability to adapt to changing market needs.
Nor-Shipping brings together the global maritime industry in Norway every two years and, in addition to the main exhibition, provides a unique program for knowledge exchange and networking that helps all stakeholders in the industry stay informed about the latest developments and share experiences.
