Seaway7 has completed the final internal cable installation at the East Anglia Three wind farm with a capacity of 1.4 gigawatts located in the UK. This wind farm is part of renewable energy initiatives aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels and increasing the share of clean energy in the power grid.

Cable Installation Details

Seaway7 teams have installed 95 internal cables, which together exceed 240 kilometers in length and have been fully placed in their respective foundations at the project site. This achievement is part of the broader scope of Seaway7's work on the East Anglia Three project, which also includes the installation of foundations and internal cables. Previously, the installation of all 95 monopile foundations and transition pieces was completed earlier this year.

Future Plans for the Project

With the completion of the cable installations, testing, termination, and trenching activities continue to advance the remaining work needed to complete the full scope of the Seaway7 project. The East Anglia Three project, valued at £4 billion (approximately €4.7 billion), is owned and developed by ScottishPower Renewables and Masdar and includes 95 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines with a capacity of over 14 megawatts. This project is also the first offshore wind project in the UK to utilize 115-meter blades.

The installation of wind turbines, which began in April, is also ongoing and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The East Anglia Three project is considered a key initiative in renewable energy and is set to be fully operational by the end of 2026.
