Ramazanali Sangdooyini on Wednesday afternoon, during the commemoration of World Standards Day, highlighted the importance of the National Standard Organization in maintaining the health and quality of products, and pointed out the necessity of sustainable energy supply during the cold season.
The Importance of Energy in the Economy and the Impact of Energy Imbalance
Sangdooyini emphasized that energy is one of the strategic components of the economy, noting that any disruption in energy supply can affect the activities of industries and production units. He added that merely increasing the production capacity of oil, gas, and electricity is not enough to overcome energy imbalance, and management of consumption and reforming energy usage patterns must be pursued seriously.
This member of parliament referred to the damage to some energy infrastructures during enemy attacks and highlighted the round-the-clock efforts of specialists in the energy industry, emphasizing that these efforts have ensured that the process of energy supply and transportation in the country has not been halted.
Energy Conservation and Development of Renewable Energies
Sangdooyini also emphasized the role of the public in managing energy consumption, stating that estimates show that reducing the indoor temperature by one degree Celsius in winter can save about 25 million cubic meters of gas daily. This capacity can be effective in managing peak energy consumption.
He referred to the development of renewable energies as one of the solutions to reduce energy imbalance and stated that expanding electricity generation from clean sources can help diversify the country's energy mix and reduce pressure on the electricity grid.
Sangdooyini emphasized the need for preparedness for the cold season, saying that the supply of fuel for power plants and planning for consumption management should be carried out in such a way that people and production units face the least problems in winter. Coordination among the ministries of oil and power and other responsible agencies for the supply of gas and liquid fuel for power plants is of great importance.
He also mentioned the provision of alternative fuel for production units in Golestan province, stating that the use of secondary fuel in case of reduced gas pressure can help maintain the operations of production units. Ultimately, he emphasized that the public and production are the two fundamental priorities of the country, and planning for sustainable energy supply for these two sectors should be on the agenda of all responsible agencies.
