Petros Panagiotidis, the Greek owner of the LPG fleet, has sold the tanker Dream Arrax to his sister company, Robin Energy, for $18 million as part of his ongoing reorganizational activities. This transaction, which took place between two companies controlled by Panagiotidis, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year and will help increase Robin Energy's fleet to three LPG tankers.
Details of the Transaction and Its Impacts
The tanker Dream Arrax, built in 2015, is currently operating under a six-month charter for $371,500 per month, which will last until November or December of this year. With this transfer, AI OKTO will only have one 5,000 cubic meter tanker left.

This transaction is part of a larger structural change within the group controlled by Panagiotidis and relates to the repositioning of existing ships rather than increasing fleet size. Recently, Toro Corp also transferred its remaining two LPG tankers to AI OKTO. These changes reflect a long-term trend of ship transfers and corporate divisions involving Toro, Castor Maritime, and Robin Energy.
Background of the LPG Fleet and Recent Transfers
The four LPG tankers added to the Panagiotidis group were purchased from Japan in 2023 for $70.7 million. Among them, the two tankers Dream Syrax and Dream Terrax were transferred to Robin through related sales. With this recent transaction, Dream Arrax joins these two tankers, and the only remaining tanker in AI OKTO will be Dream Vermax.
These changes in the LPG fleet indicate a coordinated strategy for resource management and increased efficiency. Given that new purchases are typically financed from existing cash resources, Robin Energy is looking to strengthen its position in the LPG market.
