The Viking Reach ship, built in 2009 and owned by Eidesvik Offshore, was delivered to its new owners on October 26, 2023. The ship was sold as part of a sales agreement that was concluded in August with an anonymous buyer. Eidesvik Offshore holds 50.1 percent ownership in this ship, while Reach Subsea holds 49.9 percent.
Details of the Deal and Ship Delivery
The Viking Reach ship, previously known as Edda Sun, was delivered to the new owners after the completion of the deal. This transaction concluded under terms that had been previously announced. The ship's efficiency includes a remotely operated vehicle that was also sold. Eidesvik Offshore stated in a press release: "The sale has officially closed, and Viking Reach is heading towards the Mediterranean, beginning a new chapter. We thank Eidesvik for the journey and look forward to the future with optimism!"

Expecting Profit from the Deal
In August, Reach Subsea announced that it expects to recognize an accounting profit of approximately 30 million Norwegian kroner (about 2.9 million euros) related to the sale of the remotely operated vehicle. Similarly, Eidesvik Offshore is expected to gain a profit of around 80 million Norwegian kroner from this transaction. These figures reflect the economic and financial dimensions of this deal for both companies.
The delivery of the Viking Reach ship to new owners will bring significant changes to the maritime industry and infrastructure services, and it seems that this deal could provide new opportunities for the future activities of both companies.
