Petrobras (Petróleo Brasileiro S.A), the Brazilian oil and gas giant, has recently signed a new long-term contract worth approximately 354 million reais (around 70.5 million dollars) with its compatriot company, Oceânica Engenharia e Consultoria, to provide specialized services in diving and non-diving tools.
Contract Details
This contract, which is valid for four years, allows Oceânica to provide specialized technical services including diving tools and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) in four service fronts to Petrobras. Operations related to this contract are set to begin in the first half of 2027 and continue until 2031.
Impacts and Outlook
Oceânica stated in a press release that this contract represents the company's commitment to sustainable growth and its long-standing collaboration with Petrobras, and will contribute to the efficiency and development of Brazil's energy industry. It has recently been reported that Petrobras and Oceânica have signed several new long-term contracts worth a total of 4.2 billion reais for various vessels that will be used for underwater services.
This new contract also increases Oceânica's workload to approximately 10.3 billion reais (about 2.05 billion dollars). Given the growing demand in the energy sector and the need for specialized services in this area, this collaboration is expected to lead to further advancements in future projects.
