Omid Shakri, the CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, speaking to reporters about the current state of the petrochemical industry said: "Good work is being done in the utility reconstruction sector." He added: "We are regularly monitoring the reconstruction process."

Reconstruction Status in Assaluyeh and Mahshahr

Shakri continued by referring to Assaluyeh and Mahshahr as the two petrochemical hubs of Iran, stating: "The reconstruction process is being implemented well, and efforts are being made to recover a large part of the lost capacities by the end of this year." He also mentioned that about 60 percent of the lost capacities have returned to operation so far.

Shakri pointed to the production challenges faced by petrochemicals in summer and winter, saying: "This summer, part of the production decline occurred due to electricity issues. In winter, we are facing gas restrictions due to enemy damage to the refining industry."

Upcoming Challenges and the Energy Pulse Campaign

The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company emphasized that this year the conditions for petrochemicals are tougher, stating: "230 million cubic meters of refining capacity have been lost, but with the efforts of colleagues at the National Gas and Oil Company, some of this capacity has returned." Shakri also added that "this year will be tougher for the petrochemical industry," and for this reason, they have launched the "Energy Pulse" campaign, asking the public to support this national movement to provide more energy for industries and petrochemicals.

Furthermore, Shakri referred to the issue of returning foreign currency from petrochemical exports, stating: "The petrochemical industry is separate from the issue of currency return and trusts. Petrochemicals are both producers and exporters of products, and this entire process is under the supervision of the Central Bank." He also noted: "There are no problems in this regard, but the occurrence of war and blockade has created challenges for the exports of this industry."
