Ofiniti has announced a new agreement to acquire the electronic bunker delivery note (eBDN) business of ZeroNorth. This transaction will help Ofiniti strengthen its position in digital bunkering and also reflects the trend of consolidation in the industry.
Contract Details and Implications
Under this agreement, ZeroNorth's eBDN technology, its customers, and the licensed entity in Singapore named BTS Pte Ltd will be transferred to Ofiniti's bunker operating system. This transaction marks Ofiniti's third acquisition since the company separated from DNV in September 2024. Previously, Ofiniti had acquired Singapore-based Angsana Technology and Netherlands-based Teqplay.

Ofiniti currently serves over 200 customers globally and has processed more than 50,000 bunker operations. The company estimates that it holds about 40 percent of the digital bunkering market in Singapore and is increasing its multi-million dollar investment in the world's largest bunkering hub.
Industry Challenges and Future Outlook
Tue Raguse, CEO of Ofiniti, stated that the bunkering industry is still fragmented in terms of systems, data, and workflows. Ofiniti aims to connect fuel supply, demand, and infrastructure on a single integrated platform. This initiative could help improve efficiency and reduce costs in the industry.
On the other hand, for ZeroNorth, this sale represents a greater focus on supply, pricing, and planning in the bunkering sector. This strategic shift could help ZeroNorth achieve its business goals more quickly and guide the company into new areas of the market.
Ultimately, this acquisition not only helps Ofiniti secure a better position in the competitive digital bunkering market but could also lead to new developments in technology and bunkering services.
