Air Pollution and Its Consequences
Zafarghandi described air pollution as one of the vital health issues that annually causes the deaths of about 50,000 people in the country and 700,000 children worldwide. He emphasized that this problem requires practical and effective solutions and stressed the need for action to improve public health.
Using Solar Energy as a Solution
The Minister of Health pointed to the country's high capacity in solar energy, saying: "Our country, with about 300 sunny days, has a tremendous capacity to benefit from this blessing." He added that developing solar power plants in hospitals could help provide sustainable energy and reduce air pollution. Utilizing rooftop spaces for installing solar panels was one of his suggestions in this regard.
Zafarghandi also highlighted the importance of the social responsibility of the health system, stating: "Our duty is to care for people's health in various dimensions, including education, prevention, and preparedness for emergencies." He emphasized the need for resilience and strength in the health system during crises and referred to past experiences.
Developing Health Infrastructure
