Mohammad Mo'tamedi Zadeh, a member of the Article 90 Commission of the Parliament, announced on Sunday evening (October 5) the priorities of this commission in the field of energy imbalance during a television program. He pointed out that multiple meetings have been held with the Minister of Oil and relevant officials, emphasizing that the issue of imbalance, especially in the gas sector, is being pursued seriously.
Article 90 Commission's Plans for Managing Energy Imbalance
Mo'tamedi Zadeh stated: "In the seventh program, the issue of managing energy imbalance is specifically addressed in Article 46 to reduce pressure on the people." He further stated that the approach of the law is not merely to increase tariffs to reduce consumption, but rather to create the necessary conditions for managing consumption and implementing optimization plans.

He also emphasized the Parliament's support for the Ministry of Oil, saying: "The Parliament stands by the Ministry of Oil, and inter-agency coordination to advance matters and help resolve energy imbalance is one of the priorities of the Article 90 Commission." According to him, continuous meetings with the gas company are being held, and this issue is reviewed almost every month.
Financing and Cultural Promotion in Energy Consumption Optimization
Mo'tamedi Zadeh continued to highlight the importance of financing optimization projects, stating: "In the matter of energy carriers, financing is of special importance, and cooperation between the Central Bank and the Planning and Budget Organization to support energy carriers is being considered." He added: "With the entry of energy carriers, optimal consumption is no longer just a moral recommendation but has turned into an economic recommendation. In Article 46, companies that enter this field as carriers will benefit from the savings achieved."
He also referred to the obstacles in implementing Article 46, saying: "One of the important issues was to create the conditions for the entry and support of the private sector for the implementation of this article, which fortunately the relevant authorities are on board, and the carrier companies have also taken appropriate actions."
Mo'tamedi Zadeh assured the public that carrier companies will visit homes to implement optimization projects and will work in areas such as the modification and optimization of heaters. He emphasized that if this plan is implemented correctly, the public, carrier companies, and the government will all benefit from it.
He regarded Yazd province as one of the successful experiences in energy consumption optimization, stating: "In areas like brick production, positive experiences have been formed in this regard, and the necessary conditions for the development and facilitation of such experiences must be provided."
Mo'tamedi Zadeh continued to refer to the continuous follow-ups of this commission, stating: "By fully implementing these plans, a significant portion of the existing capacities for reducing consumption and managing energy imbalance can be activated." According to him, identifying provinces where gas imbalance is more pronounced has been one of the important recommendations.
He concluded by emphasizing: "We assure the public that we have serious and continuous oversight over the implementation of the law and are monitoring the progress of work point by point and week by week." Mo'tamedi Zadeh also stressed the importance of cultural promotion and awareness in relation to this law, saying: "We are in a wartime situation, and the work is multifaceted; the Ministry of Oil, National Gas Company, Parliament, financing sector, and the public must all come together and proceed in parallel to achieve results on this issue."
