Mahmoud Mahmoudi, CEO of the Tehran Power Distribution Company, announced the high capacity for the construction of rooftop solar power plants in this province on the sidelines of the 8th Iran Solar Power Plants Conference and Exhibition. He stated that estimates show there is more than 3000 megawatts of capacity for these types of power plants, which, considering the limitations and shading levels, reduces this capacity to over 1500 megawatts.
Importance and Benefits of Solar Power Plants
Mahmoudi further pointed out that the 1500 megawatt capacity is equivalent to the load management in the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors of Tehran province. He listed the benefits of constructing these power plants, including helping to address energy imbalance, reducing air pollution, and generating income for households. Thus, these projects not only help provide sustainable energy but can also contribute to improving the quality of life for citizens.
Implementation Projects and Future Targeting
The CEO of the Tehran Power Distribution Company also mentioned the equipping of 1200 schools in this province with rooftop solar power plants last year. He emphasized: "This year, our goal is to equip 2400 underprivileged schools with these power plants." This initiative not only helps provide energy for schools but can also serve as a model for other institutions and regions.
Mahmoudi, emphasizing the importance of passive defense in energy production, stated that this approach will help reduce dependence on fossil energy sources and also improve environmental conditions. Ultimately, these projects can be proposed as an effective solution to energy challenges in Tehran province and other parts of the country.
