UAB-Online and Systems Navigator have created a deeper integration between their platforms to connect port entry planning more closely with the daily coordination of port calls.

Collaboration Details

This collaboration addresses the connection of UAB-Online, which is responsible for pre-arrival coordination, readiness, documentation, and communication with stakeholders, with Systems Navigator's Dropboard scheduling and planning platform. The companies stated that many terminals still rely on spreadsheets, whiteboards, or standalone planning tools, which makes coordination among agents, inspectors, vessels, customers, and other stakeholders difficult due to changing conditions.

Benefits of the Combined System

The combined system is designed to integrate port entry planning into the same operational environment used for preparing and executing port calls. Terminals can start with simpler entry planning and shared visibility and then transition to more advanced scheduling capabilities through Dropboard, including priorities, resources, and berth constraints. Schedules can also be updated semi-automatically or automatically using Dropboard's automated capabilities within the framework of defined operational rules.

The Role of Planning in Improving Operations

Hans Bobeldijk, CEO of UAB-Online, stated: "Planning becomes more valuable when it is connected to the operational workflow around port calls." Vincent de Gast, CEO of Systems Navigator, added that the value lies not only in producing a reliable schedule but in "keeping it aligned with daily operations amidst changing conditions."

This integration is part of UAB-Online's JIT operations strategy aimed at transitioning terminals from manual coordination towards collaborative planning, readiness-based workflows, and a more connected operational picture around port calls.
