Hamidreza Hajibabaei, the Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in recent statements, examined the consequences of the oil siege on Iran and announced that if Iran's oil is targeted for sanctions, this could lead to a global energy siege. He referred to the importance of defending the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic and the impacts of these sanctions on the country's economy.
Consequences of Iran's Oil Sanctions
Hajibabaei further referenced the Supreme Leader's emphasis on the lack of geographical limitations for the goals of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating: "Our martyr Imam also said that if a war occurs, it will be a regional war, and this is a completely certain matter." He added that the current war of Iran with the United States and the Zionist regime is not limited to military borders, stating: "This war has now reached the economic sphere and has turned into an all-out war in the cognitive and perceptual arena."

Defense of the Inalienable Right to Energy
The Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized Iran's inalienable right to defend itself, stating: "If Iran's oil is to be sanctioned and besieged, then all oil must be besieged, and if our energy is to be targeted, then all energy must be targeted." He considered these actions a form of defense and noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran will target any point that assists the United States, whether in military, economic, or technological fields.
Hajibabaei stressed that Iran will seriously defend its rights, pointed out the dangers that may arise from oil sanctions, and called for internal solidarity and unity to confront these threats. He ultimately believes that such sanctions will not only harm Iran but also all countries and could jeopardize global energy security.
