The Role of Basij in Energy Consumption Culture
The CEO of the Kermanshah Gas Company emphasized the capabilities of the IRGC and Basij in social, cultural, and service fields. He stated that the Basij has always played a role in various situations and fields and can now collaborate in cultural promotion and reforming gas consumption methods, relying on its extensive network, especially in neighborhoods and villages.
Salimi deemed the transformation of saving into a public culture essential and clarified: "If gas consumption in the residential sector is reduced by just 10%, it would allow for better management of the gas needed for large industries like petrochemicals in winter, thus preventing further restrictions on these industries."
He also emphasized the change in lifestyle and the increase in energy consumption in recent years, noting that strengthening the culture of optimal energy use in families requires continuous education and information dissemination. In this regard, the capabilities of the media, civil groups, and cultural organizations should be utilized.
Salimi concluded by calling for cooperation and collaboration from executive agencies and civil organizations in managing energy consumption, considering the utilization of social and cultural capacities of the province as effective solutions to overcome the energy imbalance during the cold season.
