Saeed Tavakoli, CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, reported in an energy consumption management meeting held on October 1st that approximately 230 million cubic meters of gas had exited the production cycle due to issues at four refineries and gas facilities in Assaluyeh. This situation has arisen due to the recent war in the region and imbalance during peak consumption times.

Return of Part of Production Capacity

Tavakoli further stated that with the efforts made, part of this capacity is returning to the cycle, and it is expected that about 100 million cubic meters of gas will return to production capacity before the start of winter. He also mentioned the possibility of gas tension in some areas and emphasized that necessary forecasts have been made to manage these conditions.

Preventive Measures for Crisis Management

The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company emphasized the need for necessary precautions to manage the energy crisis and stated: "The dependency of the Iranian people on gas is very high, and the imbalance during peak consumption is an issue we have faced in recent years and during the recent war conditions." He also stressed optimization and energy conservation as the most cost-effective solution for managing consumption.

Tavakoli, referring to the importance of utilizing the capacity and experiences of the managers of the National Iranian Gas Company, added: "The National Iranian Gas Company is determined to import gas from Turkmenistan, and we must utilize the capacity of neighboring countries." He also announced readiness to continue this cooperation, highlighting the good relations between Iran and Turkmenistan.

The Future of North Khorasan in Gas Consumption Management

Tavakoli, in another part of his speech, addressed the actions taken in North Khorasan and said: "Given the well-conducted actions in this province, North Khorasan will face the least challenges." He also responded to the governor's proposal to form a national working group for optimal gas consumption management in the province, stating that it is possible to hold this working group and that this matter will be addressed if necessary.

In conclusion, the CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company expressed confidence in the efforts of the organization to provide the necessary gas and manage the conditions, saying: "Parts of the refinery capacity that had been damaged have been recovered."
