The CEO of the National Gas Company of Iran, Saeed Tavakoli, at an energy consumption management meeting attended by the governor of North Khorasan, announced that necessary measures have been taken to ensure energy supply in the winter.
Return of gas production capacity
Tavakoli stated at this meeting that on March 17 of the previous year, some refineries and gas facilities in Assaluyeh were taken offline. However, he mentioned that with the efforts made and integrated management, part of this capacity is returning to operation, and it is expected that before the onset of winter, about 100 million cubic meters will be added to the gas production capacity.

Possibility of gas tension and the necessity of consumption management
The CEO of the National Gas Company of Iran also noted that despite the return of part of the production capacity, the possibility of gas tension in some areas still exists. For this reason, Tavakoli emphasized that alternative fuel should also be considered to manage these conditions. He pointed out the high dependency of the Iranian people on gas and the gas imbalance during peak consumption times, adding: "This issue has been experienced in previous years and during the recent war conditions as well."
He considered optimization and saving as the most cost-effective solution for managing energy consumption and stressed the need to pay attention to this issue alongside the development of production capacity.
Gas imports from Turkmenistan
Tavakoli also stated regarding gas imports from Turkmenistan that the National Gas Company of Iran has a strong will for this and should optimally utilize the capacities of neighboring countries. He added: "Expanding relations with neighboring countries can create mutual benefits, and given the good relations between Iran and Turkmenistan, we are ready to continue this path and, if necessary, pursue the issue through investment."
Actions in North Khorasan
The CEO of the National Gas Company of Iran, referring to the actions taken in North Khorasan, announced that due to these actions, this province will face the least challenges in the gas sector. Tavakoli also discussed the proposal of the governor of North Khorasan to form a national working group for optimal gas consumption management in the province, stating that if necessary, actions will be taken to hold this working group.
