Ahmad Midari, Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare, visited the injured workers at the Abadan refinery who are hospitalized at Taleghani Hospital in Ahvaz on Sunday night and assessed their condition.

Monitoring the status of the injured workers

Midari, while congratulating the Sacred Defense Week, stated: "Our main priority during this visit was to visit and address the conditions of the workers who were injured in the recent refinery incident." He added: "Fortunately, with the efforts of the medical staff, the recovery process of these individuals is progressing rapidly, and their general condition has been reported as satisfactory."

Resolving the employment issues of workers

The Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare further referred to the concerns of the injured workers and said: "In discussions with the workers, the issue of the status of their employment contracts was raised, and with the presence of Abadan refinery officials, assurances were given to follow up and resolve the employment issues of these workers." Midari also mentioned his travel plans in Abadan and said: "The launch of a floating vessel that has been built over the past 14 months with the efforts of local workers and specialists is one of the most important programs of this trip."

This vessel, which had previously been hit by a missile, has been rebuilt and prepared for launch by the determination and efforts of shipbuilding workers, and it will be inaugurated tomorrow via a webinar at the directive of the President.

Support for local talents in Khuzestan

In response to a question about the ministry's plans to attract local talents from Khuzestan and prevent workforce reductions in the province's industries, Midari stated: "Khuzestan province has immense human resource capacities, and we have tried to use local managers in the entities supervised by the ministry as much as possible." He also referred to the role of the Khuzestan governor in managing the labor environment and said: "With the measures taken, efforts have been made to minimize workforce reductions despite the remaining damages from the war period."

Regarding the public demand for transferring the bank accounts of petrochemical companies in the province to Khuzestan, Midari said: "This issue is one of our work priorities, and the process of transferring these accounts to the province is underway and is being pursued vigorously."
