Keyvan Joodi, Secretary General of the Energy Export Confederation, announced at a press conference for the Electricity and Energy Exhibition in Mashhad that the country's electric equipment exports reached 295 million dollars in the first 10 months of 1404. This is while exports in 1403 amounted to 318 million dollars and in 1402 amounted to 315 million dollars.

Analysis of Export Situation in Recession Conditions

Joodi stated at this meeting that the state of the country's industry has been severely affected due to the onset of war and recession in various industries. He noted that this recession began in Khordad 1404 and its impacts are evident across all industrial sectors.

He referred to customs statistics and said: "In the first 10 months of 1404, the country's non-oil exports were about 5 billion dollars while imports reached 49 billion dollars. This comparison indicates a downward trend in the country's exports."

Holding the Electricity and Energy Exhibition in Mashhad

The Secretary General of the Energy Export Confederation referred to the 19th edition of the Electricity and Energy Exhibition in Mashhad and emphasized that this exhibition should serve as a platform for business communications and knowledge transfer. Joodi added: "Our priorities now are the development of infrastructure and increasing productivity, and we must pay attention to new solutions to overcome the crisis."

He also mentioned that exports of electric equipment to Iraq and Afghanistan continue, but the volume has decreased compared to previous years. In Iraq, Iraqi traders visit factories and purchase equipment directly from the factory gates.

In another part of his speech, Joodi referred to the situation of imports and stated that due to the restrictions imposed on maritime routes, most imports are conducted through routes such as Turkey, China, and Kazakhstan. He also pointed to the problems in securing raw materials and said that this issue affects the operations of production units.

Challenges Facing the Energy Industry

This meeting also highlighted the necessity of close cooperation between Iran's border provinces, which can be effective in developing exports in the electricity and energy sector. Ebrahim Eskouyan, Executive Secretary of the Electricity, Renewable Energies, and Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals Exhibition, announced that this exhibition will be held from January 12 to 15 this year in Mashhad, aiming to create synergy and integration in the energy sector.

He added: "This exhibition, focusing on energy integration, aims to become a scientific and conference-oriented event that can contribute to the development of renewable energies and energy consumption management."

Finally, Joodi emphasized that despite the decrease in exports, stakeholders in this field are striving to maintain export trends in regional markets. This situation requires all stakeholders in this area to cooperate to strengthen the industry and economy of the country.
