Reza Sepahvand, spokesperson for the Energy Commission of the Parliament, announced the continuation of gas and electricity outages for industries until the end of 1405. He cited the reason for this decision as a 130 million cubic meter increase in gas imbalance compared to last year.

Gas and Electricity Supply Status for Industries

Sepahvand further stated that there is currently no shortage in gasoline supply and any deficiencies in gasoline distribution are due to violations by some stations. He explained that stations supplying less gasoline than the public's needs should be reported to the relevant authorities. He also emphasized that the government and parliament do not have any plans to change energy carrier prices until the end of the year.

Referring to the gas imbalance situation, Sepahvand stated that this issue could severely affect the gas supply needed for industries and power plants during the cold season. According to him, attacks on several phases of South Pars and gas refineries have led to an increase in the country's gas imbalance.

Fuel Substitution Plans and Energy Reserves

In this regard, Sepahvand announced that over 3.5 billion cubic meters of diesel and fuel oil have been stored for gas substitution in power plants. He noted that the existing reserves are in good condition; however, the gas imbalance this year is significantly greater than last year, which will lead to gas outages in some industries.

Sepahvand also provided explanations regarding the closure of some gasoline stations during certain hours of the day, stating that this issue arises due to gasoline shortages during some operational hours. He emphasized that gasoline is produced sufficiently within the country and there is currently no problem regarding the supply of this fuel.

The spokesperson for the Energy Commission mentioned that the increase in gasoline consumption in the final weeks of summer was due to end-of-summer travel, with daily gasoline consumption rising above 150 million liters. With the reduction in travel and moving past that period, gasoline consumption has reached about 132 million liters per day.

In response to the question of whether there will be any other price adjustments in the energy sector besides the change in the fuel card quota prices at stations until the end of the year, Sepahvand clarified that there are currently no price changes on the government's and parliament's agenda.
