Additionally, the CGC Munro has been monitoring two Chinese research vessels that passed through the United States' exclusive economic zone this summer.
These vessels, named Xue Long and Xue Long 2, headed towards the Arctic in July. The United States Navy has announced that the monitoring operations of these vessels are conducted under Operation Frontier Sentinel, which aims to protect U.S. sovereign rights and respond quickly to threatening activities.
