Aref, in the meeting of the special technology development headquarters chaired by him, reviewed proposed packages for the application of modern technologies in the oil and gas industry. These proposed packages include 117 projects prepared in collaboration with 42 organizations and aim to enhance the resilience of the oil and gas industry, inter-agency coordination, and support for the private sector.

Priorities of Technological Projects

Among the objectives of these projects are enhancing oil and gas production, completing the value chain of the refining industry, addressing the imbalance of gasoline and diesel, revitalizing and upgrading the petrochemical industry, and increasing energy efficiency in the production, transmission, distribution, and consumption chain. Additionally, by providing modern drilling fleets and related services and equipment for the operation of oil wells, the goal is to increase crude oil production by at least 250,000 barrels per day.

According to the presented plans, various contracts have been signed for the design and development of various downhole turbines and compressors with the implementation of the South Pars pressure enhancement project, and their execution has begun. The goal of this project is to secure $500 billion in surplus gas production and maintain daily production stability of over 700 million cubic meters of gas from the South Pars field.

Necessity of Conservation and Technology Development

Aref further referred to the energy imbalance in Iran and stated: "In Iran, energy consumption is 3.8 times the world average." He also mentioned that the responsibility for conservation is not solely on the people, and the government must play its role. Aref emphasized the necessity of preparing a comprehensive package regarding energy consumption conservation and preserving national wealth.

He pointed to the importance of cultural promotion and introducing successful conservation examples in various provinces and said: "We must achieve complete self-sufficiency in the oil and gas industry by utilizing academic capacities and the help of the private sector." Increasing efficiency in the oil and gas industry through the use of modern technologies will contribute to increasing national wealth and reducing poverty lines.
