Accelleron announced on September 24, 2026, that in the first four months following the commercial launch of the ACCX300-L turbocharger platform in April 2026, it has supplied projects with over 100 ACCX300-L turbochargers. These projects involve collaboration with ship owners, engine manufacturers, and shipyards across the global maritime sector, demonstrating early adoption of this next-generation platform in the shipping industry.

Widespread Adoption and Efficient Design

Designers of large two-stroke engines have now integrated the ACCX300-L into their engine configurations. Engine manufacturers and shipyards in China and Korea have also chosen this turbocharger for their new projects. This adoption reflects the lifecycle-focused design of the ACCX300-L, which offers a combination of increased power density and a service-friendly cartridge concept. This design also provides data-driven capabilities and a simpler architecture that reduces the number of frame sizes from five to two.

Transformation in Maintenance and Services

Christoph Rufka, Head of Medium and Low Speed at Accelleron, stated: "The speed and extent of adoption of this product is remarkable. Customers are looking beyond initial performance and are concerned about how to maintain and sustain the efficiency of equipment over decades of operation. Initial feedback indicates that the combination of service flexibility, simple architecture, and the ACCX300-L connection meets this need."

The cartridge concept allows operators to replace the complete rotating assembly during ship downtime without tying it to dry-docking schedules. This gives operators greater control over maintenance timing, costs, and vessel availability, supporting full utilization of component lifespan.

Turbo Insights is included as standard in every ACCX300-L installation and is ready for integration with Accelleron's Turbo MarineCare service agreements from the time of delivery. This supports condition-based maintenance decision-making and planning and forecasting of maintenance costs.

Single and twin configurations allow this platform to meet various engine and vessel needs. In twin configurations, the automatic on/off operation of the turbocharger keeps the active unit close to its optimal efficiency range at low engine loads, helping to reduce specific fuel consumption during slow steaming.

The ACCX300-L was commercially launched in April 2026 after completing its approval program. The first deliveries from the current order book are scheduled for March 2027, marking the next stage in the commercial development of this platform.
