DeepOcean and TFKable Group have planned a joint cooperation to develop submarine cable projects. This collaboration will include various key stages such as seabed mapping, route surveying, engineering, cable production and transportation, trenching, installation, and cable protection.
Integration of Technology and Expertise
This collaboration is set to combine the technology and production capabilities of submarine cables from TFKable Group with DeepOcean's expertise in marine engineering, installation, and seabed interventions. In the first phase, the focus will be on cable systems between turbines, but in the future, other options to support various submarine cable applications are also being considered.

Øyvind Mikaelsen, CEO of DeepOcean, stated: "Offshore wind energy developers are increasingly seeking collaboration and further integration in the supply chain. By combining complementary cable production and marine installation capabilities, we aim to create a more efficient delivery model that reduces risks and supports better risk management while also providing greater assurance in projects."
Long-Term Planning and Gradual Development
Planned as a multi-year development program, capabilities will be gradually introduced over time, with key development stages anticipated by 2029. The vessels required for this project will be provided by a separate ship-owning entity that will include the Polish State Industrial Development Agency (Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu) and other partners. Work is currently underway on the necessary stages to secure project permits.
This integrated proposal will also be supported by TFKable Group's ongoing investments in submarine cable production capacity and technology in Poland and the UK.
Piotr Mirek, board member of Tele-Fonika Kable and executive director of supply chains and investments at JDR Cable Systems, said: "TFKable and JDR Cable Systems have strong experience in cable solutions between turbines, supported by continuous investment in technology, production capacity, and product development. By collaborating with DeepOcean's marine engineering and installation capabilities, we see an opportunity to provide a more integrated solution to customers that covers a broader range of the project lifecycle for cables."
By combining these capabilities, DeepOcean and TFKable Group aim to reduce international risks, improve scheduling assurance, and support more effective and predictable delivery of cable projects between turbines.
