Zamil Offshore (Zamil Offshore) Saudi Arabia, established in 1977, has signed a design contract with Conoship International for a shallow diving support vessel (DSV) for the oil and gas sector in the Persian Gulf.
Details of the Diving Support Vessel
This vessel is designed with a length of 76.2 meters and a depth of 2.5 meters, featuring a lightweight hull structure and optimized shape. The diesel-electric propulsion system of this vessel is optimized for DP (Dynamic Positioning) operations. According to published reports, CFD analysis and tank tests have been employed to reduce hull resistance and optimize flow to the propulsion equipment.

The vessel features a working deck area of 360 square meters, a crane with a reach of 22 meters and a load capacity of 20 tons, and two azimuth thrusters. Diving support capabilities are centered around a dedicated diving deck and a control room equipped with LARS, ROV, and diving support systems.
Design and Construction Process
The scope of work for Conoship includes all conceptual and basic design packages, providing a complete engineering package suitable for selection and construction at the yard. This vessel can maintain position using a DP class 2 system or with two spud poles in shallow depth conditions. Experts state that reducing hull resistance and optimizing engine load distribution decreases fuel consumption per operational hour compared to standard options.
This contract aims to enhance marine infrastructure in the oil and gas sector of the Persian Gulf and improve Zamil Offshore's operational capabilities in the region. Given the strategic importance of this vessel for underwater operations and support for oil and gas projects, this collaboration is expected to increase efficiency and reduce costs in this sector.
