Viking Company (Viking) announced the names of its seven new ships on October 17, 2026, during a simultaneous ceremony in Amsterdam. This event was virtually connected with other parts of Europe and Egypt and was held in honor of seven travel advisors and industry leaders who were chosen as the 'Godfather' and 'Godmother' of these ships. These individuals were recognized for their long-standing relationships with Viking and their contributions to the company's success.

Details of the New Ships

The new ships include Viking Haki, Viking Halogi, Viking Sjofn, and Viking Rota, which will operate on the popular routes of the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers. Additionally, Viking Ptah on the Nile River and Viking Sekhmet, which will commence operations in 2027, were introduced at this ceremony. Viking Fjolvar will also explore the Seine River.

Recognition of Travel Advisors

Leah Talactac, President and CEO of Viking, stated at the ceremony: "Throughout history, rivers have inspired exploration and connected cultures and civilizations. For nearly 30 years, Viking has preserved this spirit of discovery and introduced curious travelers to the most amazing destinations in the world." She also acknowledged the seven travel advisors chosen as the Godfather and Godmother of the ships, noting that this recognition was due to their meaningful contributions to Viking's success.

The ceremony was hosted by Torstein Hagen, CEO of Viking, and featured performances by Sissel Kyrkjebø, one of the leading singers, and Norwegian violinist Tor Jaran Apold. The Viking Fjolvar was located in Les Andelys, France; Viking Halogi and Viking Sjofn in Rostock, Germany; and Viking Ptah and Viking Sekhmet in Luxor, Egypt, with the ceremony virtually connecting to these locations.
