The Norwegian ship design and construction company VARD, located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has recently opened a new office. This office, known as the Vard Design and Engineering Vietnam (VDV) Centre, has been established with the aim of expanding engineering expertise and international collaborations in ship design.

Details of the New Office

The new VARD office includes a team of engineers in several key areas of ship design. These areas include structure, piping and machinery, HVAC systems, marine architecture, hydrostatics, stability, and marine electrical systems. VARD has announced its intention to increase this team to over 40 engineers in the coming years.

Collaboration and Development Opportunities

VARD has stated in a press release that this new center not only expands internal expertise but also creates more opportunities for collaboration within the international VARD design network. This allows teams to share knowledge, experiences, standards, and best practices. The new office will also provide new job opportunities for talented Vietnamese engineers who wish to develop their expertise and contribute to the design of advanced ships.

The opening of this office demonstrates VARD's commitment to expanding its activities in international markets and addressing the needs of the shipbuilding market in the region. Given the growth of the maritime industry in Asia, this move will help VARD remain competitive in this market.

As a result, this initiative could enhance production capacities and improve the quality of ships built in Vietnam. Additionally, this office will serve as an educational center for young engineers in the country and bring new job opportunities.
