The Janfada Campaign, as a social symbol and a novel concept in Iran, has transformed into a motor for progress in various fields on the eve of the two-hundredth night of the nation's steadfastness and resistance. This campaign, which emerged from the events of the early days of the war, has now evolved beyond a slogan into a large social movement.
History and Context of Formation
Janfada is a concept rooted in Iranian culture, meaning sacrifice and selflessness for the homeland. This concept emerged during the days of war and can now also find meaning in areas such as science, technology, economy, and energy. Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, has mentioned the necessity of having a program for the scientific advancement of the country titled "Scientific Janfada" in his remarks.

The idea of the Janfada Campaign arose from social needs and security threats. Sasan Zare, the spokesperson for this campaign, has announced that individuals with various abilities and motivations have joined this campaign. From the beginning, this campaign has aimed to encourage people to participate in solving the country's issues, not only meaning going to the battlefield but also utilizing individual abilities to serve the country.
Social Participation and Youth Capacities
The Janfada Campaign has quickly become one of the broadest manifestations of social participation in the country. According to the spokesperson, the number of registrants reached about 31 million in a certain period. This number indicates that in times of threat, a large part of society feels a sense of responsibility and takes action for its country.
Surveys show that various motivations, including defending the country, serving the people, and love for the homeland, exist among participants. This indicates that Janfada has become a social concept where everyone can contribute to the country's progress according to their abilities.
Now that the country is on the verge of the two-hundredth night of steadfastness, the question arises as to in what areas the social capacity of Janfada will be utilized. While there was a clear answer during the days of war, we now face new threats such as economy, technology, and cybersecurity.
Aref, in a meeting attended by members of the Technology Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence Headquarters, pointed out that future wars will be technology wars, and the officers of this war will be the country's young scientists. He emphasized that a comprehensive program for the development of advanced technologies must be formulated.
Thus, the concept of Janfada has expanded to mean sacrifice in the field of science and technology as well. Science in which individuals can contribute to the country's progress by spending their time and effort is not only about death and sacrifice in the battlefield but also about investing in oneself for the collective future.
Ultimately, Brigadier General Hassan Zadeh, the commander of the Greater Tehran Corps, has also spoken about utilizing the capacity of Janfada for public participation in solving the country's issues, especially helping to address energy imbalances. These efforts indicate that the concept of Janfada is always evolving and takes on new forms with changing conditions.
