Arash Zareh-Tan Lehooni, the Governor of Kurdistan Province, on Saturday during the provincial crisis management headquarters meeting, reviewed the stability of fuel and energy and emphasized the urgent need to form an energy crisis management committee. This meeting was held to better manage conditions during the cold season.
The Need for Monitoring and Securing Energy Transmission Lines
The Governor of Kurdistan, referring to the poor situation of long queues at gas stations, stressed that the people of this province do not deserve to be delayed in long lines due to mismanagement or fuel smuggling. He stated: "The direct responsibility for violations at fuel stations lies with the owner, and potential violations by employees should not be an excuse to evade responsibility."

Lehooni also called for strengthening supervisory teams and said: "If a station claims to have exhausted its emergency fuel quota, the validity of this claim must be thoroughly examined. Additionally, surveillance cameras should become tools for precise monitoring to prevent repeated fueling of vehicles."
Predicting Natural Hazards and Fire Management
The Governor of Kurdistan, pointing to natural hazards on transportation routes, emphasized the necessity of technical predictions and said: "The issue of potential landslides and their impact on gas transmission lines in routes such as Kamyaran to Marivan and Sarvabad should be on the crisis committee's agenda."
He also praised the province's performance in managing forest fires and said: "An 85% reduction in fire-affected areas this year is the result of cooperation between the people and executive agencies. The province's goal for next year is to achieve a 100% reduction in forest fires."
In conclusion, the Governor of Kurdistan emphasized the need for transparency in informing the public and said: "People should be accurately informed before any energy imbalance or fuel supply restrictions occur so that they are not caught off guard with the necessary preparedness."
