Kourosh Khosravi, Deputy for Economic Coordination of Isfahan's Governorate, reported on the status of fuel supply costs and the necessity of energy consumption management during a provincial administrative council meeting, announcing the implementation of the "Carpooling" plan (car-sharing) as an effective solution. This plan is designed to alleviate the economic pressure from gasoline purchases and also to protect the environment.
Necessity of the Carpooling Plan
According to statistics published by the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, the people of Isfahan province incurred high costs for gasoline purchases last year. Khosravi pointed out that the current vehicle occupancy rate is less than 1.5 persons, stating that increasing this rate to 2 could lead to a 25 to 30 percent reduction in fuel consumption in the province. This not only reduces household expenses but also contributes to improving air quality in the province and managing fuel consumption in sensitive conditions.

Implementation Stages of the Plan
The Deputy for Economic Affairs of Isfahan referred to past successful experiences in this area and stated: The carpooling plan in the city of Tudeshk in the Kouhpayeh County and the sharing of services in large industrial towns are examples of good public and production unit reception of this model. Ongoing actions include holding coordination meetings with knowledge-based companies and service providers to consolidate services and utilize neighborhood-based infrastructures.
Khosravi specified the timeline for the implementation of this plan, stating that a public and official meeting regarding the plan will be held next Sunday with the presence of governors and responsible agencies. This meeting is considered a preliminary phase lasting three weeks, and after evaluating the results in November, successful experiences will be shared among cities and production units. It is anticipated that with the cooperation of citizens, the set goals for reducing fuel consumption will be achieved by the end of the year.
He concluded by emphasizing the need for active participation of governors and managers in the implementation meetings of the plan and called for collaboration from all executive agencies and the traffic council so that Isfahan can register as the first province in the country to establish a successful model in carpooling and energy consumption management.
