Rajabi Mashhadi, Deputy for Electricity and Energy at the Ministry of Energy, announced at the inauguration of electricity industry projects in Khorasan Razavi province that the capacity for electricity generation from renewable sources has increased sixfold during the fourteenth government. This capacity increase is the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Energy, the Khorasan Regional Electric Company, and various contractors and consultants.

Increase in Solar and Wind Power Plant Capacity

Rajabi Mashhadi emphasized the Ministry of Energy's policies regarding the development of renewable energy, stating that solar power plants have a significant share in increasing the capacity for clean electricity generation. Additionally, considerable efforts are being made in the wind energy sector to utilize the country's wind potential. The regions of Khaf, Nashtifan, and Binalud in eastern Khorasan, especially due to their suitable potentials for developing wind power plants, will play an effective role in producing electricity without fuel consumption.

New Projects in Khorasan Razavi

The Deputy Minister of Energy referred to the development of electricity generation capacity in Khorasan Razavi and stated that a 162-megawatt power plant unit has been brought into operation in the city of Sabzevar. This is the second unit of the power plant in Sabzevar and has successfully synchronized with the national electricity grid in the late summer days. These projects are among those that have been commissioned during the fourteenth government and reflect the Ministry of Energy's determination to increase electricity generation capacity and strengthen the national grid.

Rajabi Mashhadi also announced the inauguration of three important electricity projects in Mashhad, Torqabeh, and Tabadekan. One of the significant projects is the 132 kV Imamieh substation in Mashhad, which has been implemented through foreign financing and is the first substation in the province to be built this way. This project is considered an important step in strengthening Mashhad's electricity infrastructure.

This deputy also highlighted the importance of this project for the Torqabeh region, stating that due to the high population density and the presence of tourists, the area requires a reliable and sustainable electricity infrastructure. With the increased capacity from this substation, electricity supply in the region will improve, and an independent and permanent substation will be established for it.

In conclusion, Rajabi Mashhadi expressed gratitude for the efforts and collaborations of the Khorasan Regional Electric Company, consultants, and contractors, adding that the fruition of these projects is the result of the cooperation and efforts of specialists and stakeholders in the electricity industry, who deserve recognition and thanks.
