Seyed Mohammad Atabak, the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, during a visit to the Khorasan Steel Complex, emphasized the need to support large industries and complete the production chain. He stated that energy imbalance should be managed in a way that does not harm industrial production and investment.
Impact of Energy Restrictions on Production
The Minister of Industry pointed out that the continuation of energy restrictions not only reduces income and production but also increases maintenance and production costs. Atabak noted that factories designed to operate for about 320 days a year lose a significant portion of their income and necessary resources for renewing and developing their production lines when they can only produce for 150 days.

Concerns About Water Resources and Energy Imbalance
Furthermore, Atabak responded to concerns raised about the water consumption of steel industries, stating that there are no worries about water resources in this complex due to the use of wastewater and investment in water purification and recycling. He explained that this unit does not use the province's water resources to meet its water needs, and the more pressing issue is the energy imbalance and limitations in electricity supply.
The Minister of Industry emphasized that the frequent stopping and starting of production equipment due to energy imbalance leads to equipment wear and tear, adding: "We should not view production units separately from the production chain; production is a national issue, and disruption in one part of the chain affects the income and added value of other parts."
He also referred to the President's directive regarding electricity supply for industries, stating that based on this directive, efforts should be made to prevent power cuts in a way that does not disrupt their production activities. Atabak noted: "The continuation of energy imbalance is not only economically detrimental to the country but also incompatible with the goal of completing production chains and strengthening large industries."
In conclusion, the Minister of Industry emphasized the need for support and financial resources to continue the development of the Khorasan Steel Complex and added that imbalances should be managed in a way that maintains network stability while also protecting industrial production and investment.
