Current Progress and Future Plans
The Grand Canyon 3 vessel will also arrive at the project site from Blyth, England, on October 17 to conduct pre-excavation surveys and earthworks, with operations set to begin on October 20. The Hornsea 3 wind farm is located approximately 120 kilometers off the coast of Norfolk and will include 197 Siemens Gamesa 14-megawatt turbines.
Seaway7 has contracted for the transportation and installation of inter-array cables for this project in 2024. Hellenic Cables and Prysmian Group are responsible for supplying the cables, while JDR Cable Systems is in charge of testing and finishing the farm's cables.
Construction is currently underway at the Hornsea 3 site, with the second offshore converter station of the project installed in September, following the installation of 197 monopile foundations for the wind farm that began earlier this year.
