Saeed Tavakoli, CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, during his trip to North Khorasan province and in a meeting with the officials of this province, emphasized the importance of optimizing energy consumption as the most effective solution for the sustainability of the gas network. Tavakoli announced that currently, 109 energy service companies (Karvar) are collaborating with the National Iranian Gas Company to implement optimization plans, enabling the transfer of gas resources from non-productive sectors to productive and industrial sectors.
Successful Examples of Gas Consumption Optimization
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company referred to successful examples of energy consumption optimization in Razavi Khorasan province and added: "One Karvar company in the bakery sector, by modernizing technology in 18 units, has succeeded in reducing gas consumption by 50 to 70 percent." He also mentioned the significant reduction in gas consumption in brick production and said: "Traditional methods have been replaced with new technologies, and gas consumption per ton of product has decreased from 300 cubic meters to 27 million and 400 thousand cubic meters."

Energy Imbalance Management and Upcoming Challenges
Tavakoli discussed the current state of the gas network and challenges, stating: "After the attack by the Zionist and American enemy on the South Pars refineries on March 17 of last year, 230 million cubic meters of gas were removed from the network. However, with the round-the-clock efforts of gas industry workers, it is expected that before winter arrives, 100 million cubic meters of this capacity will return to production and consumption."
He further clarified that there is still a 130 million cubic meter imbalance in the network, and given the 200 to 250 million cubic meter imbalance during peak consumption, managing consumption and promoting a culture of it in society seems essential.
Tavakoli also highlighted the importance of utilizing international capacities to secure the country's gas supply, stating that the National Iranian Gas Company's determination is to diversify energy supply routes, including imports, swaps, and gas transit, relying on international capacities. In particular, cooperation with Turkmenistan in this regard is emphasized.
He concluded by expressing hope that with continued provincial cooperation and consumption management in the residential and industrial sectors, the least challenges would arise in maintaining the gas flow in North Khorasan province. Additionally, Bahman Noori, the governor of North Khorasan, stated in this meeting that all operational scenarios have been developed based on the analysis of the current situation and available capacities in the province, and necessary actions for every condition have been designed and communicated to the relevant authorities.
