Rosetti Marino has signed a new contract for marine operations in the North Sea. This contract, estimated to be worth between €250 and €300 million, is for the construction of a new platform for the Hejre project on the shores of Denmark.
Details of the Hejre Project
The Hejre project is a complex development in an area with high pressure and temperature located at a depth of 5 to 6 kilometers from the Danish part of the North Sea. The project has estimated reserves of about 170 million barrels of oil equivalent. The contract includes the design, supply of materials, construction, loading, transportation, and installation of the offshore platform for oil and gas extraction.

Environmental Challenges and Approvals
The Hejre project has faced serious challenges from environmental groups such as Greenpeace, who have expressed concerns about carbon emissions throughout the lifecycle of the project. Additionally, the completion of the project has been delayed, as the Danish Energy Appeal Board revoked the previous permit in 2025 due to neglecting environmental impact assessments. This has sparked heated debates about the environmental impacts of the project and the need for more thorough evaluations.
However, following an environmental assessment, the Danish Energy Agency recognized the revised development plan in May 2026 and issued a new permit. This approval allows Rosetti Marino to commence initial activities under the agreed conditions, and this process is expected to continue until the project's completion in 2028.
Oscar Guerra, CEO of Rosetti Marino, commented on the contract, stating: "This agreement represents Rosetti Marino's commitment and competitiveness in the European marine sector, particularly in areas requiring high technical expertise."
The Hejre project exemplifies the challenges present in the energy industry and the need for a balance between economic development and environmental protection. This project could have profound impacts on the European energy market and evolving environmental policies.
