Ehsan Zobeyh Zadeh, spokesperson for the electricity industry, in an interview with the morning program of Radio Economy, referred to the trend of reducing electricity imbalance in recent years and said: "The amount of imbalance during peak consumption has decreased from 20,000 megawatts two years ago to 15,000 megawatts last year and 10,000 megawatts this summer." He considered this trend as a sign of relative improvement in the electricity industry and added that the actions taken are still not sufficient and that continued efforts in various areas are needed for sustainable improvement.

Energy Governance and Existing Challenges

Zobeyh Zadeh further referred to the connection between electricity sector issues and other energy carriers and said: "To solve the challenges of the electricity industry, we must consider dimensions beyond this sector." According to him, a sectoral view of energy issues cannot address all existing challenges, and decision-making must take into account the interdependence among energy carriers and their mutual effects.

The spokesperson for the electricity industry considered governance as overseeing how to identify and prioritize issues, select solutions, and evaluate the consequences of decision-making, stating: "Effective decision-making requires prioritizing issues based on their importance." He also emphasized the importance of utilizing scientific findings and international experiences to enhance the quality of decision-making.

Development of Production Capacity and Consumption Efficiency

Zobeyh Zadeh pointed to the development of renewable power plants and increased investment in the production sector as effective axes in improving electricity supply conditions. He also noted that dependence on fossil fuels, in the event of fuel supply limitations, could create challenges for the electricity industry. Therefore, diversifying the energy supply portfolio is of special importance.

To enhance energy efficiency on the demand side, the spokesperson for the electricity industry emphasized the necessity of reforming consumption patterns and simultaneously focusing on demand management and production capacity development. He concluded by expressing hope that with strengthened cooperation among various sectors and adopting an integrated approach in decision-making, the groundwork for achieving more effective solutions to face the challenges of the electricity industry would be laid.
