The Brazilian state energy giant Petrobras has signed an agreement for cooperation in the oil and gas sector with the National Hydrocarbons Company of Mozambique (ENH). This agreement aims to establish a framework for bilateral cooperation and improve operations in this field.
Details of the Agreement
The agreement signed between Petrobras and ENH is valid for two years, with the possibility of extension. This agreement is considered a basis for strategic cooperation in the exploration, production, and analysis of oil and gas resources. ENH, as the commercial arm of the Mozambican government in research, production, processing, and distribution of oil and gas, is engaged in developing various projects in the value chain of the oil industry.
Signatories of the Agreement
This agreement was signed by Silva Angos, Director of Exploration and Production at Petrobras; Junilton Pasa, Executive Director of Exploration at Petrobras; Rodensu Morris, Chairman of the Board of ENH; and Alegria Kosa, Director of ENH. This agreement comes at a time when Petrobras has recently signed a 20-year contract with Sempra Infrastructure to purchase approximately 0.8 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Port Arthur LNG project in Texas.
This cooperation agreement in the oil and gas sector between Petrobras and ENH can be seen as an important step in the development of Mozambique's energy resources and also in increasing Brazil's activities in international markets.
