During a joint patrol and visit to the Shahid Tondgouyan Oil Depot in Fars Province, Parviz Khandal emphasized the need for a serious fight against fuel and petroleum product smuggling. In this visit, he reviewed the distribution and supply processes of petroleum products and stressed the use of all capacities of responsible agencies to prevent fuel smuggling.

The Necessity of Fighting Fuel Smuggling

Khandal, referring to the current sensitive conditions of the country and the existing imbalances in the energy sector, said: "The fight against fuel and petroleum product smuggling must be pursued seriously and without leniency." He also urged the responsible agencies to coordinate more effectively to combat this phenomenon.

Monitoring the Fuel Distribution Process

The Secretary of the Planning, Coordination, and Supervision Commission for Combating Commodity and Currency Smuggling in Fars Province did not consider fuel smuggling merely an economic issue and emphasized the necessity of protecting the country's energy resources. He added that in conditions of energy imbalance, this issue becomes even more important and requires precise monitoring of all stages of supply, transfer, and distribution of petroleum products.

Khandal further emphasized the facilitation and acceleration of the fuel distribution process, stating: "Petroleum products must be supplied on time and without interruption at fuel stations to reduce the grounds for the formation and expansion of smuggling." He noted that any disruption in the supply and distribution process could create problems for citizens.

This official also stressed the necessity of synergy among related agencies in the fight against petroleum product smuggling, adding: "Coordinated use of the capacities of security, executive, and supervisory agencies can be effective in identifying vulnerable points in the distribution chain and preventing the diversion of petroleum products."

This joint patrol was conducted to examine the field process of distributing petroleum products and to identify existing obstacles and problems. During this visit, the status of the Shahid Tondgouyan Oil Depot in Fars Province and the distribution process of petroleum products were reviewed. Representatives of the province's security agencies and the manager of the National Oil Products Distribution Company of Fars Province were also present during this visit.
