Oil prices increased in early trading on Wednesday. This price rise was observed following Iran's attacks on two ships in the Strait of Hormuz and the escalation of clashes between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia.

Iran's Attacks and Their Impact on Oil Prices

Two ships in the Strait of Hormuz were targeted by Iran's attacks, raising concerns about shipping security and oil supply. At the same time, Saudi Arabia announced that an attack on one of the Aramco company's buildings in the east of the country resulted in a limited fire, and four people in Riyadh were injured due to falling debris from Houthi missiles. These attacks and tensions in the Middle East have significantly impacted oil prices.

The price of Brent crude oil futures, which is the international benchmark for oil markets, rose by about 1 percent, reaching over $107 per barrel. Additionally, the price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures also increased by 0.5 percent, reaching $94.64 per barrel.

Consequences of Rising Oil Prices on Other Markets

Concerns about disruptions in oil supply have also driven gas prices in Europe to their highest level in four years. Gas futures contracts at the TTF hub in the Netherlands traded slightly above €86 per megawatt-hour on Wednesday morning, which is below the previous peak of €87.44.

In the stock market, European exchanges opened with an upward trend. The Euro Stoxx 50 index rose by about 0.3 percent, and the broader Stoxx 600 index increased by 0.2 percent. Asian markets also showed mixed results, with Japan's Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng each rising by 0.5 percent.

These developments in the oil market and other markets clearly indicate the direct impact of regional tensions on prices and global economic trends. Investors are closely monitoring these events, as any increase in tensions could lead to rapid adjustments in financial and oil markets.
