Norway's DOF Group, a pioneer in the underwater construction industry, has taken steps to sell its underwater construction vessel named Skandi Implementer. This vessel was built in 2018 and is now being transferred to an undisclosed buyer. This decision comes after a compelling offer was made.

Details of the Skandi Implementer Vessel

The Skandi Implementer vessel is designed for underwater construction activities, inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM), and ROV services up to a depth of 3000 meters. This vessel, measuring 137.6 meters in length, has accommodation capacity for 129 people and is recognized as an advanced vessel in this industry.

Implications of the Sale for DOF Group

According to Mans S. Aase, CEO of DOF Group, the sale of this vessel will not only significantly reduce the group's net debt but will also benefit shareholders. In fact, this decision has been made to improve the financial situation of the group, and it appears that the terms of the sale make this action a reasonable choice.

The delivery of the Skandi Implementer vessel to the new owner is scheduled for the second half of 2027. This timeframe provides a suitable opportunity for DOF Group to manage its financial arrangements while continuing to provide ongoing services to its clients and market.

Given its history and experience in the underwater construction industry, DOF Group seems poised for this decision to significantly strengthen its financial and operational position. With the sale of the vessel, the group can invest in new projects and enhance its existing technologies.
