Nasrallah Pezhmanfar elaborated on the meeting of the Article 90 Commission of the Parliament held on September 20, announcing new decisions for managing gas consumption in the country. The topic of issuing pre-certificates for energy operators based on the amount of gas savings was discussed and deliberated in this meeting.

Purpose of Issuing Pre-Certificates

According to Pezhmanfar, the purpose of this initiative is to create a framework for the issuance and sale of certificates, thereby providing an economic incentive to accelerate consumption management. These certificates will help energy operators take action towards gas conservation and are considered a form of encouragement to reduce gas consumption.

Collaboration Between Institutions

The head of the Article 90 Commission emphasized that this path will be pursued with cooperation and coordination between the National Iranian Gas Company, the National Iranian Oil Company, and the Planning and Budget Organization. The Ministry of Interior will also provide the necessary cooperation in this regard.

Pezhmanfar also stressed the importance of public participation in gas consumption, stating: "We have made every effort to prevent any issues in the energy sector through the cooperation of the people and proper management of consumption, and to meet the needs of the industrial, agricultural, and household sectors."

Continuous Supervision of the Energy Sector

The Article 90 Commission continues its ongoing supervision of the energy sectors of the country, and these meetings are regularly followed up. The main goal of this commission is to pass through the cold season smoothly and calmly while meeting the energy needs of the country.

Return of Gas Production Capacity

Saeed Tavakoli, CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, referred to the damages sustained by four refineries in the country during this meeting, stating: "About 230 million cubic meters of the country's gas production capacity has been lost." He added that with the cooperation of all links in the gas supply chain, it is expected that about 100 million cubic meters of this capacity will be restored before the start of the winter season.
